Any one of the following conditions invalidates a voter envelope, and it cannot be counted:
The name/Bahá’à ID in the return address on the outer envelope does not coincide with the name of an eligible elector, so the envelope is from an ineligible voter.Â
The name in the return address on the outer envelope cannot be identified or is unreadable.Â
There is no name on the outer voter envelope.Â
The outer envelope is from someone who has already voted online.

The following condition invalidates an inner envelope, and it cannot be counted:
Marks are placed on this envelope that identify an elector.

Any one of the following conditions invalidates a ballot so that it cannot be counted:
More names than the number of vacanciesÂ
Fewer names than the number of vacanciesÂ
Duplicate namesÂ
Ballot has marks identifying elector
More than one ballot/no ballot

Any one of the following conditions invalidates only ONE vote, but not the entire ballot:
Name not identifiable or readableÂ
A vote for someone whose membership on an institution disqualifies them from being eligible to serve, which can vary depending on the electionÂ
A vote for someone living outside the election jurisdictionÂ
A vote for a believer who was not yet 21 years old as of election dateÂ
